Designer Holiday Finds in Lambertville New Jersey…Blue Raccoon Rocks It
Lambertville – what’s not to love? When it comes to great designer finds, it’s a shoppers paradise for furnishings whether vintage, mid century modern, custom or antiques. Throw in great resources for artwork, accessories and object d’art – both the gift-able and collectible kind – and the only thing missing is chocolate. Wait, on 2nd thought…Lambertville has that too. Here are some photos that may answer your last minute holiday gift or home design needs – all taken during my professionally and personally productive trip there this weekend.
Check out these fun goings-on at a favorite haunt, The Blue Raccoon. Every interior designer worth her fabric bolt loves it there. A must for a stop in whether for a quick gift with flair or for some great custom furniture, all artfully tied up in a big bow by owners and all around great guys – Nick and Nelson. These holiday Nest candles sell out fast and once they’re gone they’re done. You’ll love their burn – Laura Slatkin created them for you with the help of accomplished perfumers from leading fragrance houses.
They must be sniffed to be believed. Nick tells me they are already half way through their stock – don’t miss the perfect hostess gift.
Blue Raccoon also carries wonderful upholstery lines like Bernhardt and Mitchell Gold that are real “go-to’s” for interior designers. But check out these funky little dining chairs – cottage meets ‘forest.’ With the continued design trend for all things nature inspired – they are a hit. (Even with that Pottery Barn table you own). I’m putting together a beautiful Master Suite and a Conservatory in Upper Makefield using some perfect furnishings from the store as well. (More blogging about those stunning room designs when the installations are in….)
You’ll love it at the Blue Raccoon for their great selection of gift-able table ware, home accents and perfect furnishings for your own interior design projects. It doesn’t hurt that Nelson and Nick are dolls. Tell ’em Donna said hi.
After you spend time with the fellas at The BC….yes, I will repeat myself as I’ve said in former posts – you then must hit Sneedons for the best Chicken Salad of all time…the Royal Standard of all Chicken Salad, truly. That’s all I can say.
And finally, with your happy belly full of chicken salad, your satiated gift list and your early 2011 interior design thoughts brimming thanks to The Blue Raccoon – as you dash back to your parking meter to out run the meter-maid – remember to stop into the Mr. Magorium fantasy-styled chocolatier – The Chocolate Box. Chocolate dipped potato chips, crazy-delicious dark chocolate brittle, and an endless array of beautiful hand made chocolate confections that could well sit in any shop in Paris. Treat yourself – treat those on your gift list….just stop in, and smell those roses…or chocolate in this case.
Holiday are always happy in Lambertville…
